Job Summary
The post is based at Trafford Hospital with rotation to Altrincham General Hospital and the CT and MR unit at Withington Hospital. The Radiology Department Assistants support clinical activities in all modalities including CT, MR, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy. The role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art environment with a friendly and dedicated team, collaborating with Radiographers, Sonographers, Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
* Carry out duties that support the smooth running of the Radiology department, with access to all areas and exposure to different modalities.
* Assist in the care of patients during their department visits and support clinical staff during procedures.
* Prepare for and assist Medical staff in procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, injections and other departmental tasks that support the service.
* Work effectively in a team, communicate well with clinical and non-clinical staff, and manage workload prioritisation (including accurate telephone communications).
* Participate in induction and yearly appraisals, with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills (including intravenous cannulation).
