Job Description
We’re looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed professional part-time social worker to join one of our four Assessment Teams at Wombwell Police Station. The teams co‑locate with the police to complete assessments with children and families within 40 working days, collaborate with families to determine the right intervention, and then either close the case to Children’s Social Care or transfer it to the relevant service area such as Early Help services or long‑term social work teams. Teams operate on a rota: one week on duty followed by three weeks off duty, during which assessments are completed and intervention plans developed. This is a short‑term service focused on timely, high‑quality assessments that consider need and risk.
