SEN Learning Support Assistant - Level 2 or 3 qualified or a degree in Psychology

Hours: 29.5 hours per week (8:30am – 3:30pm) | ongoing long-term
Salary: £90-£110 per day
Start Date: After the October half-term break
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, proactive, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant that has a Level 2 or 3 in Teaching and learning (or similar) to join a primary school in Leicester.
About the Role:
As a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the learning, development, and care of a pupil in Year 2 with high level needs, including Autism and being non-verbal. Working in close partnership with teaching staff and the school's SENCO, you will help ensure that the child you support is getting the most out of their education and time in school, is kept calm and understood through a variety of communication techniques. Given the diverse needs of the pupil you will be supporting in this position the school are looking for someone with previous experience in either a DSP or a special school.
Your role will include:
Supporting a pupil with high level needs through tailored activities.
Delivering one-on-one interventions to promote engagement and progress.
Creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
Collaborating with teachers and support staff to meet the pupil's EHCP targets.
Assisting with personal development, sensory programmes, and emotional regulation strategies where needed.Who We're Looking For:
