Join Our Team as a Cloud Delivery Engineer! Are you a Cloud Delivery Engineer who thrives on modern infrastructure and automation? We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience across VMware and Azure cloud environments, confident managing Microsoft 365 and driving efficiency through Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform. You’ll bring strong scripting and automation skills, including PowerShell and Power Automate, to streamline operations and improve platform reliability at scale. As an experienced Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll design, deliver, and continuously improve enterprise-grade platforms, using sound engineering judgement and technical leadership to influence the future direction of a secure, scalable, and innovative cloud estate. We work in a hybrid way, with a requirement to travel into our Walsall office at least twice a week to work with the team. With that in mind you will be located within a convenient commute to Walsall. The role is accountable for the design and delivery of infrastructure and platform change, leading the safe implementation of technology initiatives that modernise, stabilise, and improve HomeServe’s infrastructure estate. The role focuses on end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects, platform enhancements, and technical roadmaps ensuring solutions are well designed, risk assessed, and aligned to architectural, security, and operational standards. It plays a key role in identifying and prioritising opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency, including the adoption of automation and repeatable engineering practices. Working closely with engineering, service, and change functions, the role ensures that infrastructure changes are delivered with minimal service risk, lessons learned are embedded into future designs, and recurring technical issues are addressed through structural improvements rather than tactical fixes. This enables continual uplift of platform maturity while supporting safe, predictable delivery across HomeServe’s technology estate. Design and deliver infrastructure projects across cloud and on prem platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to HomeServe architectural and operational standards. Own and contribute to infrastructure and platform roadmaps, identifying technology changes, lifecycle risks, and improvement opportunities that support future business and technology strategy. Drive platform improvement initiatives, modernising legacy components, improving reliability and performance, and reducing operational complexity across the infrastructure estate. Identify and assess automation opportunities across infrastructure build, configuration, and operational processes, leveraging appropriate toolsets and scripting (e.g. PowerShell) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. Promote and align solutions to industry best practices, including cloud native design patterns, infrastructure engineering standards, security-by-design, and operational readiness. Collaborate with engineering and service teams to embed repeatable, standardised approaches to infrastructure delivery, configuration, and support. Evaluate consolidation opportunities across platforms, environments, and services to simplify the estate, reduce technical debt, and improve manageability. Support cloud cost optimisation activities, identifying opportunities to reduce spend through rightsizing, decommissioning, reservation strategies, and improved governance. Ensure infrastructure changes align to future state architecture, avoiding short term tactical solutions that increase long term risk or cost. Engage with suppliers and partners to assess new technologies, service capabilities, and optimisation opportunities, ensuring value for money and alignment with strategic direction. Contribute to continual improvement by feeding lessons learned from delivery and operations back into standards, designs, and roadmaps. About You In this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes: Essential: Extensive hands on experience delivering and operating enterprise infrastructure platforms, spanning cloud, virtualisation, identity, and core services. Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to design robust solutions, challenge assumptions, and guide engineering decisions across teams and suppliers. Proven experience delivering infrastructure and platform projects, from initial design through implementation and operational handover. Deep understanding of best practice infrastructure design, including security, resilience, scalability, and operational readiness. Ability to assess technical risk and architectural trade-offs, translating them into clear options and impacts for technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Calm, methodical approach when working in complex or high-pressure environments, maintaining focus on service stability and delivery outcomes. Strong documentation discipline, producing clear designs, standards, and implementation artefacts. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to collaborate effectively with engineers, service teams, and third-party partners. Demonstrable experience identifying, designing, and implementing automation opportunities across infrastructure build, configuration, and operational processes, using scripting and appropriate toolsets to improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and increase platform reliability. Desirable: Strong working knowledge of cloud and hybrid platforms (e.g. Azure, VMware) and modern infrastructure operating models. Experience identifying and progressing automation opportunities, using scripting and tooling to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability. Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure as code approaches, and how these integrate with traditional infrastructure environments. Experience contributing to or owning technology roadmaps, lifecycle planning, and platform improvement strategies. Exposure to regulated or enterprise environments, with an understanding of governance, supplier management, and risk control. About Us Not Specified
