Career Teachers is recruiting a passionate and qualified Teaching Assistant to work in a SEND Primary School in the Wakefield Education Authority. The successful applicant can work on a full-time or part-time basis.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND Specific Primary School in Wakefield. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, Physical disabilities, and learning difficulties, helping them to thrive in their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the personal needs of pupils, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
2. Supervise pupils to ensure their safety and access to learning.
3. Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
4. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of each student.
5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
6. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student development.
7. Monitor and document student progress and behaviour.
8. Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour among students.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with a wide range of special needs.
* Patience, empathy, and understanding.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications or training in special education are desirable.
