At National Highways, we're looking for someone with a keen eye for compliance, performance, and quality to join our South East region as an Assistant Contracts and Performance Manager on a part-time basis (30 hours per week).
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the M25 DBFO contract delivers value for money, meets performance standards, and supports our wider operational goals. Whether you come from a background in contractual compliance, quality management, auditing, or contract performance, this is your opportunity to make a real impact on one of the country's most vital transport routes.
Based in our Guildford office, you'll be responsible for:
Lead the administration of the document review process, working closely with reviewers and managing the flow of information through the document retention system to ensure timely approvals and full compliance with contractual obligations.
Identifying and managing contractual risks, maintaining the risk register, supporting contingency planning, and ensuring contractual obligations are met through effective document and information management.
Managing governance and monitoring performance and compliance of the contract to ensure it delivers value for money.
Building strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and deliver required performance.
Collating and analysing performance data to identify trends, support benchmarking, and administer performance mechanisms.
About you
Proven experience working on service-based maintenance or construction contracts, ideally in the highways sector.
Demonstrates ability to use performance measurement and management processes.
Part-qualified or equivalent in a Quality Management qualification (e.g. Lead Auditor), or able to demonstrate relevant equivalent experience supporting contract audits.
Ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to apply analytical thinking to identify risks, interpret data, and support effective planning and decision-making.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
