About The Company The Cwmbran family is recruiting! We are looking for a part time Team Leader position working 24 hours over 3 days a week (flexibility regarding days can be discussed at interview). As a Team Leader within Cwmbran Day Opportunities, you will play a key role in supporting adults with physical and learning disabilities, including complex needs. Working with the current Team Leader and reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will lead a team of support staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and meaningful day experiences. You'll ensure the smooth running of daily operations, uphold regulatory standards, and foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes independence, engagement, and well-being. Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Support - Assist the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, including staffing, scheduling, and resource coordination. - Ensure compliance with the local authority and health and safety regulations. - Uphold Salutem policies and procedures across all aspects of service delivery. 2. Team Leadership - Lead and motivate support staff, ensuring they are well-trained, supported, and delivering high standards of care and support. - Support recruitment, induction, and retention of staff, including hands on cover when needed. - Conduct regular supervisions and staff appraisals, identifying development needs and opportunities. - Promote a culture of teamwork, inclusivity, and continuous learning. - Plan and coordinate meaningful, person-centred activities for support workers to deliver, ensuring they align with individual goals, interests, and developmental needs. - Chair team meetings in the absence of the Service Manager, ensuring effective communication, continuity, and follow-up on actions. 3. Person-Centred Planning - Ensure individual support plans are in place and regularly reviewed, reflecting each person's goals, preferences, and needs. - Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex physical, mental health, or behavioural needs. - Monitor service delivery to ensure plans are followed and outcomes are achieved. - Ensure that planned activities contribute to personal development, social inclusion, and overall well-being. 4. Quality and Compliance - Participate in audits and reviews to maintain high standards of care and compliance. - Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure accurate documentation, including support plans and risk assessments. - Assist in preparing for inspections, internal and external reviews. 5. Safeguarding and Risk Management - Identify and manage risks to individuals and staff, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place. - Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and incidents are reported and addressed promptly. - Promote awareness and adherence to safeguarding policies among staff. 6. Family and Stakeholder Engagement - Act as a point of contact for families and carers, maintaining open and empathetic communication. - Keep families informed of changes in support or health status. - Champion a person-centred approach that respects individual rights and choices. 7. Resource Coordination - Support the Service Manager in managing budgets and resources effectively. - Oversee stock levels and ensure the service is equipped to meet individual needs. - Contribute to cost-effective rota planning and resource use. Person Specification Qualifications - QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is essential. Experience - Experience in a leadership role within adult social care, ideally in day services or complex care settings. - Background in supporting individuals with physical, learning, and/or mental health needs. Skills and Abilities - Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Ability to manage priorities and remain calm under pressure. - Knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory standards, and person-centred care principles. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership position, values person-centred care, and is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals in a dynamic day service environment About The Role As a Deputy Manager you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, this includes ensuring that the needs of the service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring the quality of care and support, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with external regulatory standards. Reporting to the Registered Manager, the post holder will work to ensure that specialist and quality care and support for service users is maintained through assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of service user care and support. The Deputy Manager's will also be required to ensure that policies, procedures, systems and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied. You will be passionate about motivating and empowering your team and encouraging their development. You will also be an inspiring role model, leading by example, imparting knowledge, championing best practice and promoting new thinking, enabling the team to help the people we support to make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way. We are looking for a highly motivated team member who will either have or be working towards NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3/5. Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties is desirable. A sound working knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulations and Standards, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards is also desirable.
