Job Title: Early Years Improvement Advisor – Early Years and Childcare Support Team, Lincolnshire
Salary: £48,508 - £52,761 | Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire | Closing Date: 3rd May 2026
About the Role
As an Early Years Improvement Advisor, you will play a vital part in turning the council’s ambition into reality. You will work closely with early years settings and childminders to support high‑quality provision that improves outcomes for young children and contributes to Lincolnshire’s goal of achieving a 76.6 % Good Level of Development (GLD) by 2028.
You will contribute to county‑wide improvement workstreams and collaborate with locality colleagues, including Early Years Specialist Teachers, providers, and key partners. Using your knowledge of local needs, you will help shape training and cluster events, support targeted improvement activity, and participate in EYFSP agreement trialling as required.
A key aspect of the role is providing bespoke support to early years settings and childminders—whether newly registered or requiring targeted guidance following a less‑than‑expected Ofsted outcome. You will build strong professional relationships and champion a sector‑led improvement model that drives sustainable, high‑quality practice across the county.
This is a fixed‑term, three‑year position that could also be suitable as a secondment for internal candidates.
About You
You will be a qualified teacher with experience working with young children and a strong knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will be confident working with providers to challenge and support practice, contribute to improvement planning, and work collaboratively across services. You will share the council’s commitment to improving outcomes for all children, especially the most vulnerable.
Additional requirements:
* UK driving licence and access to a car (travel round Lincolnshire required)
