Your role:
As OD Assistant Business Partner Learning and Development, you’ll help shape and deliver a dynamic learning offer that empowers Team Wigan to grow and thrive. You’ll lead on high-impact initiatives, including leadership development, management fundamentals, and core learning. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you’ll foster a strong learning culture and manage corporate learning contracts. This is a strategic and creative role, offering the chance to influence organisational development across the council.
About you:
You’ll bring energy, creativity, and a passion for learning. With experience in designing and delivering innovative OD interventions, you’ll use data and insights to drive improvement. You’ll be confident managing projects, building relationships, and communicating clearly across a range of audiences. A relevant qualification or equivalent experience is essential, along with the ability to work flexibly and strategically in a fast-paced environment.

The contractual hours for this post will be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the role and the service. Work will be carried out across Council buildings and/or Community Venues across the borough. It is our priority to ensure that the role is fulfilled effectively and while there is flexibility to work from home when service delivery allows, the expectation is that staff will attend the workplace for a minimum of two days per week. However, depending on service requirements, you may be required to work your full contractual hours on site at Council buildings and/or Community Venues.
