Hays Senior Finance are exclusively supporting a successful retail business in Droitwich with the recruitment of a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. With a rich heritage and growing global presence, our client is a market leader in their industry and has been at the forefront of innovation for nearly five decades.
Your new role
As Management Accountant, you will join an experienced and high-performing team working with multiple cost centres. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial reports, analysing financial data, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key duties:
1. Preparation and analysis of cost centres' expenditure, including month-end duties such as journals and balance sheet reconciliations
2. Manage the budget and forecasting process for your cost centres
3. Provide accurate and timely reporting to sales teams and senior management on sales adjustments
4. Update and maintain records of sales adjustments, discounts, and rebates
5. Analyse and forecast sales adjustments by customer
6. Act as a business partner with internal stakeholders through communication, reporting, and expenditure control
7. Support the Finance Director and finance team with ad hoc projects and tasks
What you'll need to succeed
1. Newly qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA); consideration will be given to part-qualified Accountants nearing the end of their studies
2. Proven success in management accounting roles
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
4. Confident self-starter with a proactive work approach
5. Analytically minded with high attention to detail
6. Excellent communication and business partnering skills, capable of working with multiple stakeholders
7. Highly proficient in Excel (SumIFs, PivotTables, LookUps, etc.) and familiar with ERP systems
