Overview
Depot Assistant role at HYDRAQUIP HOSE & HYDRAULICS – Lanark. Hydraquip are the UK’s largest independent onsite hose replacement company, offering a 24/7 365-day service nationwide. We have been established for over 30 years and have ambitious plans for further growth. Our hydraulic trade counters carry a comprehensive stock of fluid power products with access to 70,000+ products available for next day delivery. Each hydraulic trade counter supports manufacture of hydraulic hose assemblies with optional testing, labelling, bagging or inclusion into multi-component kits.
A day in the life of a Branch Assistant involves hands-on depot operations, serving customers at the trade counter, delivering excellent service, and driving sales where possible. You will use our computer system to locate stock, process customer orders and provide timely and accurate pricing.
Responsibilities
* Assisting and actioning customer inquiries
* Processing sales orders and quotations
* Identifying, sourcing and selecting components for projects
* Assisting with depot stock control and distribution of van stock items for service engineers
* Day-to-day operation of the hydraulic trade counter
* Promoting products and services
* Providing prompt customer service to the highest standards
* Completing general administration duties
* Logistics co-ordination of a small number of mobile breakdown vans
Who we are looking for
You will need a hands-on, customer-focused approach and be confident serving customers on a busy trade counter, proactively engaging with potential customers. Prior experience in a similar customer-facing role is preferred. Although not essential, knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic components is advantageous. A driving licence is not essential but would be a substantial advantage for occasional deliveries.
