Background

The Student Governance Team, within Academic Registry, plays a vital role in enhancing the student experience and supporting continuous improvement across the University by maintaining clear and transparent policies across key student-facing processes, including Student Complaints, Academic Appeals, Student Conduct, Academic Misconduct, and Fitness to Practise. The Team conducts thorough and objective investigations to support fair, evidence-based decision-making and resolution. The Case Coordination Team are responsible for the co-ordination of both Academic Misconduct and Fitness to Practice, liaising with staff across the University, ensuring adhesion to published service level agreements. This team also provides administrative support to the Case Handling and Investigations Teams, including arranging and supporting meetings with note taking.

The Role

We are seeking two individuals to join the Case Coordination Team within Student Governance to fill the post of Case Coordinator and Administrator (two positions available). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who has experience of supporting meetings, boards or committees to develop their skills in a specialist area. Work of the post holder will directly support the University in meeting its regulatory responsibilities and upholding the highest standards of conduct, integrity and accountability. The post holder will be joining a newly established team, with opportunities to identify processes for improvement.

To be successful in this role the post holder will have experience of completing administrative work to a high standard, with proven experience of ensuring the smooth and timely completion of tasks. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders in a professional manner, ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion. Excellent organisation and time management skills as well as a high level of attention to detail are vital to perform well in the role. The ability to make sound decisions and know when to escalate is essential in the co-ordination and prioritisation of incoming casework. Full training will be provided on University processes and systems.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. Campus attendance may vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year. The post holder is currently expected to work at least two days per week on campus. These days will be determined based on confirmed working team days but are subject to change based on scheduled meetings that the post holder may be required to support in person.
