Your Role
We’re excited to invite a future team member to join our FX eTrading Engineering team as an FX eTrading Java Back-End Engineer, Vice President. This role is based in Manchester with a HYBRID work model.
What You'll Do
In this impactful role, you will:
* Build low latency connectivity to new markets.
* Engage in hands-on technical development for a critical trading application.
* Capture, analyze, and design requirements for the eTrading platform.
* Coordinate testing and user acceptance activities.
* Liaise with global business, support, and development teams.
* Troubleshoot and optimize performance and scalability issues.
* Provide third-line support during trading hours.
* Collaborate closely with the business product manager and internal business users focused on FX trading.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
* Strong core Java skills, including threading and sockets/networks.
* Proficiency in TCP/UDP protocols.
* Knowledge of financial messaging protocols, especially FIX.
* Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with build, testing, deployment, and code analysis tools.
* Nice to have: Experience with KDB and middleware solutions like Tibco RV or Solace.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written.
* A collaborative spirit to work effectively with both technical and non-technical peers, including remote colleagues.
