Part-time 22 hours per week Tuesday to Friday. Shifts will either be 9.30 – 3.00pm or 11.00 am 4.30pm. Occasional Saturday work may be required
Short-term contract for 6 months.

About the Museum
Our museum in the heart of Llandudno celebrates the rich cultural, artistic, and social history of the Creuddyn Peninsula. We welcome visitors of all ages, offer exhibitions, events, and learning programmes that inspire curiosity and connect our community with heritage.
We are seeking a friendly, proactive Visitor Services Officer to lead our front-of-house volunteer team and help deliver an outstanding experience to all museum users.
Role Purpose
The Visitor Services Officer is responsible for providing excellent customer service to visitors, supporting daily museum operations, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment. The postholder will play a key role in maintaining high standards of visitor care, supporting ticketing and retail activities, and assisting with events.
Key Responsibilities
Visitor Experience
* Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all visitors.
* Deliver high-quality customer service, responding to enquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
* Offer information about exhibitions, events, facilities, and the museum's programme.
* Monitor visitor flow and support accessibility needs where required.
Front-of-House Operations
* Operate the museum's systems for Ticketing and Admission, Donations/Gift Aid, EPOS, and retail sales.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable visitor environment, including galleries, reception, and public areas.
* Assist with the opening and closing of the museum, following security and cash-handling procedures.
* Support the implementation of health and safety policies, including emergency evacuation procedures.
Retail & Income Generation
* Provide excellent service in the museum shop, supporting stock management, merchandising, and sales reporting.
* Promote donations, gift aid, memberships, and events to visitors.
Events & Activities
* Assist with the set-up, delivery, and supervision of museum events, workshops, school visits, and community activities.
* Support the learning and engagement team when required.
Administration & Reporting
* Maintain accurate visitor data and assist with compiling daily and weekly operational reports.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team meetings.
Person Specification
Essential
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Friendly, confident, and approachable manner.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy visitor environment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and occasional evenings.
* Basic IT skills and confidence using till or booking systems (training provided).
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and accessibility.
Desirable
* Experience working in a museum, gallery, heritage site, or visitor attraction.
* Knowledge of local history or enthusiasm for arts and heritage.
* First Aid qualification (or willingness to train).
* Welsh language skills (highly advantageous).
