Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - York and Nearby Villages
Full Time | Flexible Roles Across Schools | Immediate Starts
Right now, we’re welcoming Teaching Assistants to join a variety of primary schools in York and the surrounding areas. Many of our schools are especially looking for people who can give that little bit of extra support to pupils with additional needs.
This might mean working closely with one child to help them stay engaged, manage the ups and downs of their school day, and feel secure and supported. Needs can range from autism and speech & language difficulties to challenges around social, emotional or mental health. Whatever the situation, the impact you’ll have is huge.
Every classroom is different, and every child’s journey is unique. If you’re someone who can bring patience, calm energy, and a reassuring presence, you’ll quickly become a vital part of the school community.
Alongside 1:1 support, you’ll often be that extra pair of hands in the classroom—helping with small groups, supporting lesson activities, and being someone teachers can rely on. You don’t need to arrive as an expert; what matters most is a willingness to get stuck in and a genuine care for the children in front of you.
We welcome people from all walks of life: whether you’ve already been in schools, come from care or youth work, or have other experience that’s given you resilience and empathy, we’d love to talk.
Send us a quick message or apply today. Together, we’ll help you find the school where you feel at home—and where your support makes all the difference.
