The Role
Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about employee relations and fostering a fair, consistent, and people-focused workforce? We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our friendly HR & OD team.
You will deliver high-quality, customer-focused ER services, providing professional advice on employee relations issues such as disciplinary, grievance, and attendance management. You will help improve HR policies and practices across partner organizations, shaping modern and consistent people management approaches.
You will work closely with a Senior HR Advisor and HR & OD Apprentice, collaborating with legal and external partners to support effective service delivery. This role offers an opportunity to influence change, support cultural development, and contribute to a progressive People & OD strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage employment policies and casework processes
* Facilitate informal resolutions where appropriate
* Coordinate with shared service operations to meet RBK requirements
* Ensure governance and management of terms, conditions, and contracts
* Oversee casework, including hearings, focusing on workforce issues like sickness absence and mental health
* Identify risks related to ET claims and financial exposure
* Monitor investigation timelines and escalate delays, providing mitigation
* Support service improvement, training, and culture initiatives
* Review and develop HR policies and operational processes
* Provide policy advice across HR and OD
* Recommend improvements and identify risks/opportunities for early resolution
* Manage HR formal casework, including panel constitution and representation
Skills & Experience
* Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent experience
* Experience advising managers in unionized environments
* Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
* Ability to manage complex ER casework and support organizational change
* Collaborative and professional approach
The role may require flexible working hours to attend events and meetings with reasonable notice.
