Construction Solutions Engineer
Location: West Malling, Kent (UK-based); travel across the UK and occasional overseas trips. The role is full-time and permanent. Flexibility to work outside standard hours is essential, in line with operational needs in sectors like rail and construction.
What you’ll do
* Deliver engaging, practical training to customer teams (on-site, classroom, and virtual).
* Provide floorwalking and hands-on support during go-live phases.
* Be the first point of contact for user queries, resolving issues or escalating as needed.
* Support customers in setting up and using the OWL system confidently.
* Create and maintain easy-to-follow guides and training materials.
* Offer one-to-one coaching for users who need extra help.
* Assist with site deployments, ensuring the technology fits into operational workflows.
* Gather feedback from users to help improve the system and user experience.
* Support demonstrations and trials for new customers.
* Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and partners.
* Help test and roll out new features and hardware.
* Troubleshoot on-site technical challenges related to the system.
* Ensure Health & Safety compliance during all site visits.
* Keep accurate records of training, support, and feedback.
* Represent Onwave and OWL with professionalism and enthusiasm.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
* Comfortable working with technology and mobile devices.
* Strong people skills — confident, clear communicator with a friendly approach.
* Experience in customer-facing roles, ideally in construction, engineering, or field support.
* Proven ability to deliver training or support to end users.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently on customer sites.
* Willing to travel across the UK (overnight stays required).
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
* Able to pass BPSS checks.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience in field-based support, training, or deployment roles.
* Familiarity with geo-fencing or location-based systems is a plus.
* Understanding of adult learning styles and training techniques.
* Experience with remote training tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom).
* Recognised training qualifications (e.g. PTLLS, TAP, ILM) are helpful but not essential.
Qualifications
* Good general education (minimum GCSEs in English and Maths).
* 2–10 years’ experience in field support, training, or customer-facing technical roles.
* Willingness to complete Health & Safety training for site work.
