Overview
A global smart building technology company is seeking an independent and self-driven Senior Integration Engineer to take a lead technical role within its EMEA operations. The position will be based in London, serving as the key link between complex building systems (BMS, HVAC, metering, access control, and other subsystems) and a next-generation cloud analytics platform.
This role suits a technically strong engineer who enjoys owning projects end-to-end, from solution design to deployment, and ensuring a seamless flow of data from site to cloud. The successful candidate will help establish the company’s EMEA engineering function and later mentor junior engineers as the regional team expands.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Integration
• Serve as the Master System Integrator, managing the full lifecycle of connecting building data to the cloud platform.
• Design and implement integration strategies across BMS, APIs, and industry-standard protocols, tailoring solutions to site conditions and client IT environments.
• Install, configure, and validate physical or virtual edge devices (Linux-based), including setups within Niagara Framework or equivalent environments.
• Collaborate with client IT teams to ensure cybersecurity compliance, firewall configuration, whitelisting, and credential management.
• Conduct data verification through network scans, BACnet discovery, and point validation to guarantee accuracy and system health.
Project Execution & Coordination
• Lead technical discussions and progress meetings to align stakeholders on integration goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to maintain delivery schedules.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, ensuring smooth handover and warranty-phase support.
• Recommend process improvements and support internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Collaboration & Team Building
• Work closely with the global engineering team across different time zones to align deployment standards and technical methodologies.
• As the EMEA function grows, mentor and oversee junior engineers to maintain best practices in project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
• 2–5 years’ experience in Master System Integration or advanced BMS/controls engineering roles.
• Strong technical proficiency in leading BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Tridium/Niagara, Trend, Schneider) and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LonWorks, APIs).
• Solid understanding of Linux environments (preferably Ubuntu LTS), cybersecurity principles, and network configuration.
• Proven ability to design scalable network architectures for data acquisition in commercial buildings.
• Highly autonomous, organized, and capable of managing complex technical workloads independently.
