What You Will Be Doing
As a Crop Production Technician/Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting a range of field and on farm trials across the East of England. Your responsibilities will include:
* Setting up, monitoring, and assessing on farm and strip trials
* Assisting with tractor and harvester operations when required
* Conducting crop phenotyping using handheld and drone based methods
* Carrying out greenhouse gas measurements and helping develop protocols
* Completing soil health assessments and coordinating sample testing
* Preparing trial data for analysis and supporting trial report collation
* Maintaining field and research equipment, ensuring SOPs are up to date
* Working closely with research, crop production, and field teams to deliver high quality assessments and data
This role involves regular travel and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
What You Need
* A strong understanding of UK agriculture
* Full UK driving licence
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
* High attention to detail
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team
* Willingness to undertake physical, hands-on work in the field
Desirable:
* A degree in a relevant scientific discipline
* Experience operating farm machinery, particularly with precision guidance systems
