Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/ Domestic Assistant to join our team. This is a duel role.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
This role is a duel role with 12 hr Kitchen Assistant 8am-12pm 3 days per week and then to include domestic duties of 14 hrs per week over 2 days 8am-3pm ( these hours are flexible)
This role will include weekend working on a rota basis.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
* Support the cook in various tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes.
* Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
* Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
* Assist in catering events as required, ensuring timely delivery of meals to clients.
* Domestic Duties to include
* Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home
* Ensuring all areas of the home are kept clean and tidy
* Cleaning of resident's bedrooms
* Cleaning of communal areas where required
* An understanding of COSHH is desirable however training is provided
Skills
* Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
* Familiarity with catering practices and meal preparation processes is advantageous.
* Understanding of food safety standards and best practices in a kitchen environment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality in food presentation.
* A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen/Domestic tasks as needed.
* Basic Knowledge of COSHH, however training is provided.
