We’re looking for an experienced media leader to join UKTV as Head of Media Planning for an aprox 12 month FTC, with ownership of our on‑air promotional strategy across linear channels and VOD.
This is a high‑impact role at the heart of how we recruit, retain and navigate audiences around UKTV’s brands. Working closely with the Director of Media Effectiveness, you’ll shape how our owned on‑air media works alongside paid activity to drive viewing, performance and long‑term brand growth.
What you’ll be responsible for
* Leading and developing a high‑performing Media Planning team, creating a culture of clarity, inclusion and high standards
* Defining and delivering UKTV’s on‑air media strategy across linear and VOD
* Ensuring our owned inventory is used as effectively and efficiently as possible, flexing to changing audience behaviours and business priorities
* Playing a key role in marcomms planning, working closely with Marketing, Creative, Social and Paid Media partners
* Taking a network‑wide view, setting clear objectives, KPIs and investment levels to drive business outcomes
* Maximising the impact of Continuity & Navigation, guiding viewers across brands and strengthening network identity
* Championing learning, effectiveness and the value of owned media across the wider business
* Supporting company‑wide priorities including Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainability
What we’re looking for
* A senior media leader with strategic experience gained within a broadcaster or media agency, with deep knowledge of linear and VOD
* Proven track record of improving performance through strong planning and campaign strategy
* Demonstrable experience leading teams to deliver data‑and insight‑driven outcomes
* Deep understanding of the consumer journey and how owned media works alongside paid and earned
* Strong grasp of BARB, TechEdge and Piano, with the ability to interrogate data and build bespoke solutions
* A creative, pragmatic problem solver with sound editorial judgement
* Confident influencer with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
* Passionate about media, its effectiveness, and the role it plays within marketing and the wider business
