Location: Worcester
Proposed Salary Range: up to £27,000 full time equivalent (£16,200 based on three days per week - 21 hours ) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC EXTEND
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the BBC Hereford & Worcester team to shape content that inspires and informs our local audience. As a Journalist, you’ll play a key role in producing engaging content for radio and social media, helping deliver creative excellence that connects with our community.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* Produce the Daytime programme on Wednesdays, focusing on interactive and lively content.
* Manage social media channels on Thursdays and Fridays, creating engaging reels, videos, and photos.
* Collaborate with the team to identify and develop compelling local stories.
* Ensure all content meets BBC editorial standards and legal requirements.
* Engage with the local community to understand their interests and needs.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Proven ability to create high-impact content across audio and social media platforms.
* Passion for storytelling and understanding of how the BBC adds value to local audiences.
* Instinct for identifying stories that resonate on audio and social platforms.
* Knowledge of editorial challenges and legal considerations in digital journalism.
* Filmmaking skills, including shooting and editing your own material (e.g., using Final Cut Pro).
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Experience with publishing platforms like Social Flow.
* Familiarity with the local area and its community.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
