Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant
Location: Preston
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)
Salary: Competitive + Study Support (AAT optional)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing and ambitious business in Preston. Following a period of rapid expansion, the finance team is seeking an additional team member to support day-to-day operations and play a key role in ensuring the continued smooth operation of the accounts function.

Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
* Dealing with supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
* Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs
* Bank reconciliations and allocating payments to customer accounts
* Raising sales invoices and credit notes where required
* Chasing overdue accounts and maintaining strong credit control
* Working with Xero on a daily basis
* General accounts administration and ad hoc support across the finance team
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in an accounts/finance role
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
* Good communication skills and a team player attitude
* Experience with Xero is desirable but not essential
