Overview
We are looking to employ a parttime 0.5 FTE (18.75 hours) Occupational Therapist to join our MSK Primary Care team. The post requires an occupational therapist who is specialised and can work at a high level of practice in primary care. They will use in-depth, expert knowledge, clinical skills, and experience in the management of patients, groups, and communities for occupational participation.
Responsibilities
* Provide personalised, biopsychosocial occupational therapy interventions from initial clinical assessment, diagnosis, intervention to evaluation.
* Perform complex clinical decision-making and expert care for patients in primary care.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of how to use risk assessment for undifferentiated diagnoses and clinical red flags, including when alternative input is required.
* Work collaboratively with the primary care multi-disciplinary team (MDT) across pathways and systems.
* Meet the needs of patients and carers, offer digital delivery, and support the delivery of appropriate policy and procedures.
* Provide occupational therapy leadership across clinical practice, education, and research.
* Focus on rehabilitation for older adults to stay well at home, using risk stratification tools, rapid access, home assessments, and short-term interventions including advice on safe management; include work in care homes and palliative care, addressing undifferentiated diagnoses and red flags.

Primary Care Physio is England's largest independent specialist provider of first-contact primary care services. We support NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and GP practices by delivering high-quality, tech-enabled primary care FCP (First Contact Practitioner) solutions in Physiotherapy and Podiatry. Our team includes First Contact Physios, First Contact Podiatrists, and Advanced Practitioners, supported by clinical supervisors approved by Health Education England under the FCP Roadmap to Practice. We have been commissioned by NHS PCNs to deliver integrated, local FCP managed services, and we support a large patient population across GP practices nationally.
About the Role and Benefits

We offer 4 hours of protected supervision and CPD time per week (27 days annually), including weekly one-on-one sessions with an HEE-approved FCP Supervisor. We support professional growth through the Roadmap and fund external Level 7 MSc courses such as Injection Therapy and Non-Medical Prescribing.
