Academics is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join a specialist SEMH provision in Bromley, supporting young people who require tailored interventions and consistent, positive role models.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will:
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils aged 11-16.
Provide emotional and behavioural support in and out of the classroom.
Help students develop social skills, self-esteem, and coping strategies.
Work alongside teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to deliver individualised support plans.
Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every young person can thrive.
Use creative and practical approaches-sports, mentoring, activities-to engage pupils who may struggle with traditional learning.
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, youth offending (YO), mentoring, or social care background.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused.
Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for making a difference.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
A team player who brings positivity and reliability to the role.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
