Operational Services Assistant Manager Location: Rochdale We are looking for an experienced and proactive Operational Services Assistant Manager to support the Head of Department in running our Operational Services Centre. This is a hands-on leadership role, supervising and motivating the team while ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations in line with policies, procedures, and legislation. You will monitor performance, support staff development, and deliver operational tasks to a high standard. Working closely with the Enforcement Management Teams, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement and help drive the success of the team. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations, maintaining high service standards. Support the Head of Department in monitoring team performance and implementing improvements. Provide operational updates, reports, and feedback for informed decision-making. Lead delegated tasks and projects to ensure timely, high-quality completion. Deputise for the Head of Department when required. Develop, implement, and monitor departmental processes for compliance and consistency. Manage team productivity, performance, and quality against KPIs. Coach, mentor, and guide team members to ensure understanding of processes and expectations. Handle line management duties, including absence management, appraisals, and team meetings. Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team environment. Contribute to operational improvements and change initiatives. Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards. What we are looking for: Experience in a supervisory or team leader role. Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Background in operations, administration, or multi-department environments. Familiarity with KPIs, performance tracking, reporting, and process improvement. Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail. Proficient in business systems and operational software.
