Office Manager
The Office Manager will be responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the Eastern Landlords Association's main office. This role requires a proactive, highly organised individual who can manage day-to-day operations, ensure legal and procedural compliance, and serve as the central point of coordination and communication for the ELA Board and staff.
Key Responsibilities
General Office Management
* Oversee all office processes and ensure they are compliant with current legislation, updating procedures as necessary.
* Ensure full adherence to Health & Safety & employment law
* Be responsible for adherence to GDPR regulation
* Maintain compliance with all insurance requirements and ensure documentation is up to date.
* Stay informed and competent in all relevant legislation, including updates affecting office operations and the private rented sector (PRS).
* Promote a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement across the team.
* Identify training needs for self and staff; source and coordinate appropriate training opportunities.
* Ensure all staff follow current processes and procedures consistently.
* Identify and report operational issues or shortfalls to the Board or line manager and collaborate on solutions.
* Manage timelines and deadlines for all projects, meetings, and initiatives.
* Collect, consolidate, and analyse information from multiple sources to produce clear, concise board reports.
* Keep the Board informed on all relevant matters, ensuring they have the information needed to make strategic decisions.
* Coordinate internal communications and ensure alignment across departments and stakeholders.
* Act as the single point of information for all ELA directors—maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all ongoing activities across the organisation.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in office management or a similar administrative / leadership role.
* Strong understanding of compliance requirements in H&S, employment, data protection, and insurance.
* Familiarity with legislation affecting the private rented sector (PRS) is highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and briefings for senior leadership.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
* Proficiency in office software and systems.
* Annual holiday entitlement of 20 days, plus all UK bank and public holidays:
* After one year of service, you will receive an additional day's holiday for each subsequent year of service, up to a maximum of 5 extra days.
