The Role

We are looking for a Leader experienced in Supported Housing who will be part of our Heads of Service Team and who can lead a creative and dynamic person centered support to those who find themselves homeless. At Alabaré we look at Breaking the Cycle of homelessness by being bold, dynamic and confident in our delivery and support. Alongside this our organisational values of Care, Compassion, Honesty and Respect influence our ways of working.

The Head of Homelessness reports to the Care & Support Director and is a member of the Heads of Service Team. The post holder is responsible for the day to day operational management and service delivery of care, support and housing to vulnerable and marginalised adults in a number of homes and services. The post holder has a clear focus upon improving quality, within financial constraints, and meeting and exceeding appropriate national and local quality standards of both care and property. This includes directly managing the Managers and Team Leaders for a number of homes and services.

As the expert and voice of single homelessness, this role involves actively promoting our work in alignment with the strategic objectives. This includes delivering impactful presentations, engaging in public speaking opportunities, and representing the team in various forums to raise awareness and drive support for our initiatives.

The role is also a change agent for the transformation of their services. This will include the active collaboration in the development and leadership of implementation of the supporting operational strategies.

What We are Looking For

* The right candidate will have a degree and/or equivalent qualification in Management Housing, Health or Social Care professional qualification. Or can demonstrate qualification by experience.
* Working Knowledge and practical application of the legislative and regulatory framework of the supported housing and social care sector.
* Experience of managing financial budgets.
* Ability to lead, inspire and motivate others, generate innovative ideas and lead multi-disciplinary groups.
* Proven knowledge, experience and understanding of the needs of vulnerable and marginalised people in need of support, in particular homeless clients.
* Developing and implementing policies and procedures relating to housing and support services.
* Proven record in delivering high performancing services and championing continuous improvement.
* Proven record of developing and maintaining effective relationships within the sector to achieve results.
* Knowledge of writing tenders.
* Project management presentation skills, interpersonal skills, proactive networking skills and IT Literate.
* Commitment to equalities in the delivery of quality care and support.
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
* Inclusive team player, performance driven and able to take a charity wide approach.
* Flexible thinker who is confident, self-sufficient and well organised.
* To reflect and foster the Christian values of the Charity through commitment to organisational aims and values.
* Ability to work productively in a high-pressure environment.
* Positive attitude to self-development.
* Car driver essential with access to road worthy vehicle and business insurance.
* Based in Salisbury (other locations possible by agreement) to include 1 day a week from home if needed and ability to visit other locations within the service when required.
