We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Swinfen Hall, working as Functional Skills English Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information
HMP Swinfen Hall is a category C prison for young adult and adult men located near the village of Swinfen in Staffordshire. They key aim of the prison is to provide education, vocational training, and comprehensive support services. The main aim of the prison is to prepare inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
* Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (*Applies to Teachers in YOI only*)
* Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
* Have a good previous track record of achieving quality targets
* Have willingness to engage with and produce accurate and timely reports
* Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Have an ability to motivate and enthuse learners in the subject matter
* Demonstrate good organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines/targets
* Advocate for, and engage consistently in, positive team working
