Your role Provides pre-contract technical expertise and input to sales teams and customers. The Design Engineer (DE) gives input into bids/proposals. The Design Engineer (DE) leads the design of the agreed service solution, to ensure that the customer requirements and implementation lead times are met. The Design engineer will be a subject matter expert (SME) for assets across the UK portfolio. What you'll do Provides an assessment on Power, Cooling, and Space availability at the budgetary quotephase. Provides a technical design for a new datacentre whitespace opportunity, existing design amendments, and/or bespoke or adhoc customer requests (COF) and ensures that overall customer requirements and implementation lead times can be met. Plans and coordinates required resources and capabilities and acts as the key interface with Capacity Management, Facility Management, Security, DE&C, and provide technical pre-Sales support. Ensures that corporate design principles (DEG) with respect to standardisation, power, cooling, and space are followed and reflected in the designs. Defines solutions costs (incl. CAPEX) and/or suitable alternatives and their associated risks. Adhere to the QHSSE Responsibilities Matrix. Approves technical design at the Design function Reporting Lines and Competencies The position reports to the Solution Engineering Lead UK. What you'll need Work experience in the data centre sector or telecommunications for at least 3-5 years desirable. Electrical • Mechanical Building Design CNET / DCPRO or other industry qualifications related to design.
