The opportunity:
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, handling IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on global IP portfolios of household names, requiring a global mindset and effective coordination with international teams and clients.

Main responsibilities:
* Handle technical trade mark formalities, including registration, prosecution, maintenance, and renewal.
* Prepare client reporting emails independently.
* Support global IP M&A activities, including recording assignments, licenses, and changes at local registries.
* Conduct IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
* Support anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting guides and liaising with infringers.
* Perform trade mark searches and drafting search reports.
* Develop legal knowledge to support firm lawyers and clients.
* Maintain compliance with firm procedures and standards.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 or above preferred.
* Legal background with trade mark/IP experience preferred.
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification (advantageous).
Skills:
* Attention to detail, organization, and proactive attitude.
* Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Teamwork and adaptability.
