Stratton St Margaret Parish Council is seeking two passionate and experienced Youth Workers for a fixed-term position within the Parish. The role focuses on delivering youth participation programmes using a community development approach, supporting young people's transition to adulthood by fostering personal and social growth.
Applicants must have previous youth work experience, strong communication skills, and the resilience and discipline needed for challenging situations. Proven ability to manage volunteers and resources, as well as collaborate with local organisations such as PCSOs, schools, and charities, is essential. The ideal candidate will be approachable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
The youth sessions that will need attendance:
Monday – Lower Stratton Youth Club pm
Tuesday – Outreach pm and Safe Space 6-7pm
Wednesday – Mini youth club 3.30–5pm, LGBTQ+ Club 5–6pm and Neurodiversity Group 6-7pm
Thursday –Youth Club pm and Homework Club 6-7pm
Friday Youth Café – 3.30-5pm
The qualification requirement is: Level 3 (or above) Youth and Community Work qualification or similar qualification for work with young people, or working towards – and a deep understanding of Safeguarding legislation.
