Current Opening: 1st Line Support Technician
We are looking for a 1st Line Support Consultant with the relevant experience to join us to look after our clients.
Purity IT has provided outsourced support to businesses across Scotland for 23 years.
You will be based working from home. Your day will be varied — from dealing with incoming phone calls and troubleshooting basic problems to onsite visits for PC and laptop installations. The day-to-day workload on the whole is calm, productive and rarely results in reactive firefighting.
The successful candidate will be part of a small but efficient team, where team work is a priority to deliver excellent customer service and support to our clients.
You need to be self-motivated, punctual, and confident working without supervision. You should be comfortable communicating primarily by telephone and face-to-face with clients and colleagues when required.
The salary awarded will be dependent upon skills, relevant experience and previous roles.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle is essential for this role — mileage will be compensated.
Key Responsibilities:
* Travel to client sites to install PCs and laptops
* Follow documented processes and procedures for all deployments
* Deliver outstanding on-site client support and represent our values professionally
* Work from home when not on client sites
* Answer incoming calls from clients and log tickets on the helpdesk
* Adhere to documented service level agreements (SLAs)
* Manage your own tickets independently
* Escalate or collaborate with team members on more complex resolutions
Technical Experience:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar IT support role
* Setting up new PCs and laptops
* Windows 11 Pro installations
* 3rd party software and anti-virus installation
* LAN connectivity troubleshooting, network patching
* Active Directory account creation and domain joining
* Microsoft 365 account creation and mailbox setup
* Use of remote access and management software
* IT hardware troubleshooting, on site and remotely
* Basic printer troubleshooting
Helpdesk Experience:
* Understanding and adhering to Service Level Agreements
* Excellent communication with clients and colleagues
* Managing your own tickets unsupervised
* Escalation of tickets and/or working with team members on resolutions
