Offer description

A successful university campus is about so much more than buildings. It’s about the environment, the atmosphere and the people – creating that sense of home that will help students feel safe, secure, and help them thrive. At UPP, we understand just how important this is and that’s why at each of the universities we partner with we have a dedicated onsite team offering a range of facilities management services designed to support the safety of the building and ensure students enjoy a high quality of life throughout their stay.

Here at UPP we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Home at Halls Representative to join our Reading team.

The role guarantees a minimum of 5 hours per week during term time only (circa. 25 weeks, 2.5 terms) with the potential for further hours when necessary. The Senior Reps will be expected to run a minimum of one event per week along with administration time. This role will include some evening and weekend working. The hourly rate is £12.60.

Candidates must be current University students who are living or have previously lived in the University Halls of Residence. You must also be available to attend a compulsory training session (date to be confirmed).

Role responsibilities include:

* Attending and participating in training, staff meetings and other meetings relevant to the role
* Assisting with administration associated with the events including inputting attendance data, responding to student queries and other associated event administration.
* Contributing to the social media marketing of events and activities.
* Contributing events ideas during planning and assisting with organisation.
* Leading a minimum of one event per week. This will involve setting up the event, registering event attendance, leading the activity and responding to queries that may arise.
* Ensuring the event is conducted safely in accordance with health and safety policies.
* Actively promoting upcoming events to event attendees
* Gathering feedback and assessing during events from attendees
* Attending relevant training provided by UPP and its partners
* Be a trusted part of the halls community by being a point of contact for students, answering questions and informing staff on issues within the halls of residence

We are looking for you to have great communication and organisation skills, along with experience of running or working at events and the passion to work as a team to do an excellent job.

We truly care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly team and help make a positive difference to students living away from home in our accommodation.

Our people are at the heart of how we operate.

We welcome all applications and recognise the value of having a diverse and inclusive culture, which reflects the communities we work with and has a positive impact on our people, our student residents, and our university partners, for the benefit of all.

Innovation, Sustainability, Community, Partnership and Respect are our core values. These outline what is important to our business and our people.

We are a team with energy, pace and passion; if that sounds like you, apply today.
