About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Data Analyst to join our Researchfish team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid foundation in data analysis who is ready to take ownership of intermediate-level projects with minimal supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring data quality, generating actionable insights, and supporting both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Responsibilities
* Develop a strong understanding of the Researchfish data model and related tools.
* Identify opportunities and risks in data quality and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Investigate data issues and recommend practical, effective solutions.
* Deliver clear, insightful analyses to support internal and external stakeholders.
* Lead or support the design and rollout of enhanced data tools and systems.
* Document and maintain data processes to ensure consistency and transparency.
* Follow established procedures for tracking and resolving data-related issues.
* Collaborate with the Chief Analyst and team members to share knowledge and support projects.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years of experience working with SQL (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL, Snowflake).
* Strong understanding of relational databases and data analysis methods.
* Skilled in data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
* Effective communicator with clear documentation skills.
* Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
* Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Collaborative and relationship-oriented approach to working with stakeholders.
* Familiarity with research data ecosystem (e.g., Crossref, ORCID, Datacite, PubMed).
* Experience with Python, PHP, R, or equivalent programming languages
