About The Role
Quality Engineer
Permanent, Full-time
Onsite, Inchinnan
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct internal audits and witness tests.
• Travel to suppliers and trials as needed.
• Liaise with Engineering, Project Management, Stores and Manufacturing leads to ensure compliance.
• Report immediately to the Quality Manager to maintain quality across in‑house and customer operations.
• Facilitate root cause analysis, corrective actions and quality assurance inspections at vendor locations.
• Participate in contract and supplier review meetings, lessons learned activities and monthly reporting.
Principle Accountabilities
* Engage specialists to define customer and regulatory requirements at the start of projects.
* Develop and deploy quality frameworks and quality plans with subject matter experts.
* Carry out internal and supplier process manufacturing audits.
* Address corrective actions for customer complaints and warranty rework issues.
* Interface with government bodies and regulators to ensure compliance.
* Facilitate root cause analysis on part or product quality issues.
* Review correct action requests to ensure timely resolution.
* Communicate regularly with Project, HSEQ, Procurement, Engineering, Products and Production to identify improvement opportunities.
* Participate in contract and supplier review meetings.
* Perform quality assurance inspections and test witness at vendor locations.
* Facilitate long‑term corrective actions with carriers.
* Participate in lessons learned activities.
* Conduct quality assurance analysis and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
* Background in Quality and Engineering with a relevant qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings.
* Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and industry best practices.
* Familiar with Quality Management Software and MRP systems (e.g., Glovia – desirable).
* Knowledge of certification and documentation processes in the Defence sector.
* Proficient in MS Office applications.
* Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
