What to expect:
Installation & Commissioning:
10. Install and modify electrical systems including containment (tray, ladder, conduit), power, and lighting.
11. Carry out 1st and 2nd fix installations.
12. Commission electrical systems and ensure proper documentation.
Maintenance & Fault Finding:
13. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
14. Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and equipment.
15. Respond to breakdowns and restore systems promptly.
Testing & Certification:
16. Conduct electrical testing and inspection in accordance with BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
17. Complete relevant certification and documentation EICRs, minor works certificates).
18. Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and standby cover.
19. Ensure rapid response to critical faults affecting data centre operations.
Compliance & Safety:
20. Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
21. Maintain high standards of workmanship and site cleanliness.
22. Ensure installations meet current electrical regulations.
Teamwork & Supervision:
23. Work independently or as part of a team.
24. Supervise subcontractors when required.
What we expect from you:
Essential:
25. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
26. City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing).
27. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
28. Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in electrical installations.
29. Experience working in live, operational environments (preferably data centres or critical infrastructure).
30. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
31. Experience with BMS, UPS systems, and generator backup.
32. Exposure to high voltage (HV) systems and switching procedures
33. Knowledge of data centre standards Uptime Institute, ISO).
34. Strong problem-solving skills.
35. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
36. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
37. High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
