The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Chief Architect to join the Technology Team at Law Society, as their first Director of Technology Architecture and Engineering to provide leadership and set the strategic direction for the Law Society enterprise and solutions architecture. Reporting to the Executive Director of Technology & Change, the role is responsible for setting the architectural vision, roadmap, and standards that ensure all technology solutions are coherent, secure, scalable and aligned to organisational priorities. You will lead the Solution Architecture & Engineering functions, providing authoritative oversight of technology design and delivery, ensuring that solutions are pragmatic, cost-effective and capable of delivering business outcomes.
You will work in close partnership with the other Operational Directors, to ensure that technology decisions are innovative and future forward while also being operable, sustainable and resilient. In this way, the role defines what the Law Society builds and why.

What We're Looking For
* Demonstrable experience of developing a cross-organisation strategic vision for technology and architecture that underpins and enables the organisation’s strategy
* Extensive experience in leading enterprise and solution architecture functions in complex organisations, with business acumen and innovation.
* Ability to lead, manage and develop a high performing and engaged team of solution architects or similar technical specialists
* Deep knowledge of enterprise IT domains including applications, data, AI, integration, infrastructure and security
* Outstanding leadership skills with proven ability to build, inspire and engage technical teams despite ambiguity and frequent change
