Job Description
* Provide clear guidance as an HR Advisor on HR policies and procedures across this manufacturing business in Nottingham, supporting a positive and sustainable working environment.
* Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, offering advice to managers and employees in line with legislation and company standards.
* Manage disciplinary, grievance and performance-related cases, ensuring issues are handled fairly and consistently.
* Support engagement and well being initiatives that contribute to a supportive workplace.
* Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, shortlisting, interviews and onboarding.
* Oversee onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new starters.
* Ensure HR policies are up to date, compliant and clearly communicated to managers and employees.
* Support line managers with the implementation of HR policies and best practice.
* Maintain accurate HR systems and employee records across sites.
* Produce regular reports on key HR metrics such as absence, turnover and general workforce trends.
* Manage absence cases and coordinate return-to-work meetings.
* Assist with training programmes and support development activities.
* Contribute to HR projects and wider initiatives that support organisational goals.
The Successful Applicant
* A strong background suited to an HR Advisor working within a manufacturing setting in or around Nottingham, with the ability to support a forward-thinking and sustainable organisation.
* A solid understanding of HR policies, procedures and UK employment legislation, with confidence advising managers across multiple sites.
* The capability to handle employee relations matters, including complex cases, in a professional and compliant manner.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage varied HR tasks effectively.
* Clear and confident communication skills, able to build supportive relationships at all levels of the business.
* A proactive mindset, able to identify solutions and support continuous improvement across HR activities.
* Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce accurate reports and maintain data integrity.
* A CIPD qualification, ideally Level 5 or working towards it, demonstrating commitment to ongoing development.
* The ability to contribute to HR projects that support operational goals and wider people initiatives.
