We have an exciting opportunity to join Sheffield Health Partnership University in the stroke psychology services based in Rotherham. This is an AfC band 7 full‑time role, but part‑time hours may be considered. We welcome newly qualified or soon‑to‑be qualified Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. Responsibilities
 * Provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology/psychological therapy service to Rotherham Stroke Service users.
 * Conduct specialist psychological assessments using complex methods.
 * Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and/or management of service user problems.
 * Work face‑to‑face individual, family, and group therapy settings with complex psychological problems following stroke.
 * Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals.
 * Support risk assessment and risk management for service users.
 * Coordinate complex intervention plans and reviews.
 * Communicate assessment, formulation, and treatment plans sensitively and monitor progress.
 * Provide clinical supervision to less experienced psychologists, assistants, trainees, and other professionals.
 * Allocate clinical work within the team.
 * Utilise research skills for audit, policy, service development and research.
Training, Education and Experience Requirements
 * Post‑graduate, doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent), including two or more distinct psychological therapies, accredited by HCPC/BPS or equivalent.
 * Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist.
 * Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of service users across the full range of care settings.
 * Evidence of continuing professional development and experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
 * Experience with complex psychological difficulties following stroke, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, emotional lability, and cognitive impairment.
Essential Skills and Competencies
 * High‑level skills in complex psychological assessment and intervention.
 * Excellent communication skills, oral and written, to service users, families, and professionals.
 * Consultation skills with professionals and non‑professionals.
 * Doctoral‑level knowledge of research methodology and statistical analysis (e.g., SPSS).
 * Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to HCPC standards.
Desirable Skills
 * Knowledge of specialised psychological therapies for stroke patients.
 * Knowledge of relevant legislation.
 * Pre‑qualification training in research methodology, staff training, or applied psychology.
 * Experience of teaching or training.
 * Experience in multicultural contexts.
