Role Summary
The consultant is one of two special‑care dentists stationed within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In partnership with the Clinical Lead, you will develop and lead the special care dental service across the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and other community sites.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist dental advice and treatment, including sedation for patients with disabilities or complex medical conditions.
* Liaise and collaborate with health and care teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for special‑care patients.
* Conduct outpatient clinics for special‑care patients at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and oversee the general anaesthetic service for adult special‑care patients.
* Participate in the specialty training programme in partnership with the postgraduate deanery.
* Take part in DCT2 and dental undergraduate training programmes.
Qualifications
* Registered with the GDC as a Specialist in Special Care Dentistry.
* Completed specialist training (or equivalent) and entered on the Specialist Register, or have a CCST date within six months of interview.
* Awareness of recent UK immigration and skilled‑worker visa requirements; non‑UK/EEA applicants must meet UK Government rules.
