Job Description: Pupil Support Assistant Level 2, Glenrothes
We are seeking a dedicated Pupil Support Assistant (Level 2) passionate about enhancing life chances for children and young people, enabling them to reach their full potential. Under the supervision of a class teacher or senior staff, you will support children requiring additional assistance.
You will be responsible for:
1. Supporting pupils individually, in class, or in small groups across learning and personal development areas.
2. Contributing information for planning and review processes for individual pupils.
3. Supervising self-administration of medication and providing personal care to help pupils function optimally, including toileting and encouraging independence.
4. Implementing support programmes designed by specialists, such as speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, or occupational therapy.
5. Supporting mobility and short-term needs, including toileting and injury care.

Qualification, Registration, and Skills Requirements
* Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team and ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
* Experience supporting young people with additional support needs.
* Obligation to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before confirmation of appointment.
* Educational qualifications: 2 National 5s, Standard Grades General, O Grades, or equivalent (SCQF Level 4 or above).
* Must register with the SSSC within 3 months of employment and maintain registration.
* For roles in Early Learning Centres, Primary, and Special Schools: NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6, SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6, or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve this within the first registration period.
