Job Description

Our asset management business system includes carbon management to meet our corporate objective of becoming a Net Zero Carbon organisation. Carbon management is fully embedded in both the delivery of our infrastructure programme and in our management of assets. The process is supported by existing and developing carbon tools that enable construction projects and suppliers to meet mandatory carbon assessment requirements and allow the EA to produce a carbon footprint for all assets that need to be reduced over future years.
The Asset Management Business Systems Team supports all EA teams and suppliers in their use of carbon tools and ensures they become a core asset management system operating with other AMBST‑supported tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
 * Support EA and external users of operational carbon tools
 * Manage and deliver a range of services to users of carbon tools
 * Agree and maintain services with a range of different user groups
 * Act as a senior product user for digital improvement projects of our carbon tools and data
 * Plan and manage user activities in the implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements
 * Manage the resources and funding for carbon tools support and maintenance
 * Work with operational carbon communities and national leads as required
 * Collaborate with IT suppliers, FCRM, Operations teams throughout England and Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS)
 * Engage with Local Authorities, Water Companies, Internal Drainage Boards and the civil engineering supply chain
Team Overview
We are the Asset_Management_Business_Systems_Team (AMBST), part of the Digital, Data and Evidence team. We manage several Asset Management IT Systems; AIMS PD PoL, PAFs, RMA Portal, FastDraft, Co‑Space, Asite (BIM Document Management) & SBMT. We provide system administration, user support and an advisory role on IT projects, working with suppliers, DDTS, EA business leads and users to ensure improvements are realized that enable Asset Management to deliver efficient outcomes.
Experience / Skills Required
We are looking for someone with significant experience and knowledge in carbon management in infrastructure assets, projects or programmes. You will be able to demonstrate:
 * Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes
 * Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services
 * Experience in developing training and documentation
 * Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communications
 * Ability to identify, analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working
 * Ability to take decisions and solve complex business problems
 * A strong focus on efficiency, innovation and quality
 * Strong focus on customers and partners and ability to build and sustain relationships
 * Ability to manage yourself and work on your own initiative

The role is predominantly office‑based, but travel will be required occasionally. Any location for your office base is acceptable. All team members undertake training and participate in incident response when required.
