Location: Covers Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Gateshead, Durham, Hartlepool, South Shields and Newcastle (as required). Pay rate: £13.23 per hour. Hours: up to 45 per week, with some shifts finishing at 23:00 – a driver and personal transport to and from site is preferred.
Job Overview
Mitie is looking for a Retail Security Officer who can deliver exceptional customer service and create a safe shopping environment. Experience or the ability to obtain an SIA licence is preferred, and the required vetting includes a full 5‑year checkable employment and education history.
Responsibilities
- Deliver industry‑leading customer service
- Deter violence and public order offences
- Conduct patrols of the store
- Utilize CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
- Wear body‑worn CCTV to enhance safety for customers and colleagues
- Liaise with store management teams
- Coordinate with Police and crime partnership networks to support crime‑reduction efforts
Qualifications
- Current or potential holder of an SIA licence or SIA certificates
- Full 5‑year checkable employment and education history
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport (preferred)
- Ability to work shifts including post‑hours finishing at 23:00
