Upholstery Machinist\n\nOverview\n\nWe are seeking experienced Upholstery Sewing Machinists to join our team for a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role involves repairing office chairs for government contracts, and we are offering a competitive rate of £16 per hour.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nOperate and maintain sewing machines used in the upholstery repair process\nSewing, joining, reinforcing, or decorating materials using various machine techniques\nEnsuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in upholstery repairs\nCollaborate with the upholstery team to meet production goals and deadlines\nAdhere to health and safety guidelines in the workplace\n\nQualifications\n\nPrevious experience in upholstery or sewing machine operation\nProficiency in using industrial sewing machines and related tools\nAbility to interpret work orders and follow specific instructions\nStrong attention to detail and quality workmanship\nEffective communication and teamwork skills\n\nDay-to-day\n\nArrive at the workshop at 9am and engage in daily team meetings\nWork closely with the upholstery team to prioritise repair tasks\nOperate sewing machines to complete repair projects\nMaintain a clean and organised work area\nCollaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient production and meet deadlines\nClock out at 5pm and update task progress with the teamif interested please email me at (url removed)
