Overview
Adult Social Worker – Keech Hospice, 22.5 hours per week. Starting salary - £25,801 per annum (FTE £43,003) with room to develop and progress through the pay grade banding to £29,191 (FTE £48,653) on a competency based framework.
Within the Social Work team at Keech we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified adult social worker to join us with post-qualification experience, and a desire to develop specialist palliative care expertise within a multi-agency hospice team. The role focuses on adults and their loved ones living with a palliative illness, from diagnosis through end of life care.
You will support people to cope with the impact of their situation, including themes of loss and bereavement, and promote their choice and control in life and in death. You will support patients admitted to the hospice in-patient unit and those in the community, bringing Social Work expertise to manage complex safeguarding, mental capacity and best interests within a multi-agency team to ensure access to holistic, individualised support for patients and loved ones.

Responsibilities
* Apply recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* Provide social work support in palliative care or with complex health conditions and care needs.
* Work effectively in emotionally challenging situations.
* Conduct thorough assessments and communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues.
* Apply relevant legislation to the role and contribute to safeguarding, capacity and best interests work within a multi-agency team.
