The Role…
You'll be a confident and strategic operator with excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy and government-funded skills training. Working with SMEs and large employers alike, you'll develop high value partnerships while leading business development initiatives across your region.
As a self-motivated and target-driven individual, you'll bring energy, insight, and a strong commercial acumen to everything you do – from initial outreach through to relationship management and contract negotiation.
What you can expect in this role...
* You'll lead funded growth by identifying, generating and converting new business opportunities across our apprenticeships provision.
* You'll present and negotiate by delivering compelling presentations and proposals, and negotiating terms with clients to secure long-term, high-impact partnerships.
* You'll influence strategy by feeding market insights back to our leadership team, helping shape new training offers and business development initiatives.
* You'll conduct in-depth training needs analysis with key clients, aligning our digital learning solutions to real business needs.
* You'll represent Althaus externally by attending and speaking at events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand our brand presence.
* You'll collaborate internally with our talent and curriculum teams to ensure a seamless experience for both learners and employers.

Person Specification…
Essential:
* Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a business development or B2B sales role, ideally within apprenticeships, further education, or digital training.
* Proven track record of identifying, attracting, and closing high-value client partnerships, with demonstrable results against sales targets.
* Strong understanding of Apprenticeship Levy funding, government-funded skills programmes, and the wider training and education landscape.
* Confident in consultative selling and creating tailored client solutions.
* Experienced in using CRM systems (preferably HubSpot), Microsoft Office, and modern sales and marketing tools.
* High personal integrity, professional conduct, and a learner/employer-first mindset.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance. Travel across the West Midlands and occasional visits to our Derby HQ will be required.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a digital or technology-focused training environment.
* Established network of employer contacts within the West Midlands region.
* Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.

What to expect during the interview process:
We want to ensure you're the right fit for us, and that we're the right fit for you Our process is designed to be relaxed yet insightful.
Stage 1:
A 30-minute Teams call with our Chief Operations Officer – this is all about fit and feel.
Stage 2:
A 30-minute Teams call with our Head of Sales to give you an insight to a day in the life, current team, KPI's, etc, and to get to know you.
Stage 3:
An in-person interview at our office with our Head of Sales and panel. This stage may also include a fun and interactive interview activity to showcase your skills in action.

This is a hybrid role and will require travel to Derby (East Midlands) for meetings at least 1 day per week.
