Weighing Service Engineer

Spider is advertising on behalf of our client is looking to recruit a Weighing Service Engineer to join their team on a full‑time, permanent role. The work will be mainly based in East Anglia, and you will ideally live within a 30‑mile radius of their modern purpose‑built office and workshop near Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role: As a Weighing Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing and calibrating scales and weighbridges at a variety of customer sites throughout East Anglia. Working both independently and alongside a small team, you will ensure equipment is installed and maintained to a high standard. You will also support the management team with planning jobs, ordering parts and ensuring service visits are completed efficiently. This role is Monday – Friday and is primarily field‑based.


Main Duties and responsibilities

* Install, service and calibrate scales and weighbridges at customer sites
* Assist with planning jobs and ordering required parts
* Maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service
* Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out


About you

As a Weighing Service Engineer, you will have previous experience installing and maintaining weighing equipment, along with a working knowledge of IT systems. You will have strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively while managing your time independently. You will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with the ability to climb ladders and lift equipment when required. Applicants must also be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Please note: Applicants must be physically fit enough to lift 20kg weights.
