Job Title: Junior Sous Chef
Location: Newport
We're looking for an ambitious Junior Sous Chef to join our welcoming country pub kitchen. Known for freshly prepared dishes and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, our pub is at the heart of the community and prides itself on quality, consistency, and hospitality.
About the Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you'll:
* Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily running of the kitchen.
* Step up to lead the team and manage service when senior chefs are off.
* Cook and present dishes to a high standard, following our recipes and quality guidelines.
* Help develop specials and seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced produce.
* Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are always met.
* Mentor and guide junior chefs when needed.
About You
We'd love to hear from you if you:
* Have experience as a strong CDP looking to step up, or already work as a Junior Sous Chef.
* Are confident working independently as well as part of a team.
* Have strong organisational skills and can keep calm under pressure.
* Care about great food, fresh ingredients, and delivering consistency.
* Are reliable, driven, and keen to progress in your career.
20-30 hours per week
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
