Job Description:
My client is looking to recruit a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager who will manage all elements of the warehousing and domestic transport operation within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. This includes the overall management of the site and its facilities, ensuring logistics solutions are fully integrated, cost-efficient, and improve customer service.

Responsibilities:
* Manage transport administration, planning, and third-party carriers & internal drivers, including warehouse inbound/outbound planning.
* Oversee stock management and control, and manage staff and resources effectively.
* Maintain site housekeeping and safety standards.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with a kaizen environment.
* Ensure high-quality standards, customer KPIs, SLA requirements, and operational KPIs are met.
* Ensure health, safety, and welfare of staff, complying with regulations.
* Handle H&S and maintenance issues on-site.
* Manage quality and environmental standards.
* Coordinate with external contractors and landlords regarding site issues.
* Oversee security responsibilities as the designated responsible person.
Additional Duties:
* Plan resources and staff to achieve daily operational goals.
* Manage operational supervisors to ensure timely completion of unloading, put away, picking & packing, and loading activities.
* Create and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Monitor operational costs and manage records accurately.
* Coordinate maintenance of machinery and security equipment.
* Maintain effective communication within the team and with external partners.
* Manage domestic transport activities with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners.
* Encourage continuous improvement and good housekeeping practices.
* Handle staff disciplinary procedures in collaboration with HR.
* Monitor staff performance, attendance, and holidays.
* Maintain staff training and supplier records.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 3 years of managerial experience in warehouse and transport environments.
- Experience in airfreight logistics preferred.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and results-oriented.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Experience as an AvSec and H&S representative.
- Budget management experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- O Licence desirable; training can be provided.
